Municipal and school delays and closings for today

With up to a foot of snow expected in parts of Monmouth County on Wednesday, some New Jersey schools and municipalities are already announcing delayed openings and closings for Thursday. Below is a growing list. Check back to for updates, and check below for APP's weather tweets.

New Jersey state offices will be closed for all nonessential employees. Essential employees should report in their regular schedule.


Atlantic Highlands Elementary - Closed.

Asbury Park schools - Closed.

Avon School District - 2-hour delayed opening. Students will start at 10:05 a.m.

Belmar Elementary School - Students report at 10 a.m. and staff report at 9:30 a.m. If school closes, parents will be notified by email and phone by 8 a.m.

Bradley Beach Elementary School - 90-minute delayed opening. If the school closes, officials will notify parents by 7 a.m.

Brookdale Community College - All locations closed, all classes and activities canceled.

Colts Neck School District - Closed.

Deal School - Closed.

Eatontown School District - Closed.

Fair Haven School District - Closed.

Farmingdale School District - Closed.

Freehold Borough schools - Closed. Also, no trash collection Thursday.

Freehold Regional schools - Closed.

Freehold Township School District - Closed.

Hazlet Township School District - Closed.

HighlandsElementary School - Closed.

Holmdel Township School District - Closed.

Hope Academy Charter, Asbury Park - Closed.

Howell Township School District - Closed.

Keansburg School District - Closed.

Keyport School District - Closed.

Little Silver School District - Closed.

Long Branch Public School District - closed.

Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District - Closed.

Manasquan School District - 90-minute delayed opening, but schools may be canceled depending on the condition. Manasquan High School is expected to open at 9:08 am and Manasquan Elementary School will open at 10:00 am. Before-school care at Manasquan Elementary School is canceled.

Marlboro Township School District - Closed.

Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District, offices and after-school activities - Closed and canceled. OLSAT 8 and Career Academy Entrance Exam have been canceled.

Middletown Township School District, all after-school activities and Town Hall - Closed and canceled.

Millstone Township School District - Officials will wait until Thursday morning to officially announce if schools are closed.

Monmouth Beach School District and after-school activities - Closed and canceled.

Monmouth County Vocational School District - Closed.

Monmouth University - Closed.

Neptune City's Woodrow Wilson School - Closed.

Neptune Township School District, after-school activities and central office - Closed.

Ocean Township School District - Closed.

Oceanport School District - Closed.

Red Bank Borough schools - Closed.

Red Bank Regional - Closed.

Roosevelt Public School District - Closed.

Rumson School District - Closed.

Tinton Falls School District - Closed.

Sea Girt - There will be a delayed opening. Students are asked to report to school at 9:50 a.m. and staff at 9:20 a.m. The drama performance is scheduled for 11 a.m. Lunch will be from 12:15 to 1:05 p.m. The district will continue to monitor the weather and send a follow up message in the morning by 7 a.m. if it becomes necessary to cancel the school day. Check email and the school website before heading out in the morning.

Shrewsbury Borough School District - Closed.

Shore Regional High School - Closed.

Solomon Schechter Day School, Marlboro - Closed.

St. Rose High School, Belmar - Closed.

Spring Lake Heights School District - Closed.

Union Beach School District - Closed.

Trinity Hall, Tinton Falls - Closed.

Wall Township School District - Closed.

West Long Branch School District - Closed.


Barnegat Township School District - 2-hour delay. Before care will open at 8:30 a.m. The Bengal Cubs Early Learning Center will open at 8:00 a.m. and AM pre-school is cancelled.

Berkeley Township School District - 2-hour delayed opening, but schools may close, depending on weather conditions. Central Regional School District is operating on a 90-minute delayed opening schedule, according to Mayor Carmen Amato.

Brick Township schools - 90-minute delayed opening. Before school BEST program is canceled.

Brick's Goddard School - delayed opening.

Central Regional - 90-minute delayed opening.

Donovan Catholic - delayed opening.

Georgian Court University - Closed.

Jackson School District - 2-hour delayed opening.

Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst - All non-essential personnel are to report at 10 a.m.

Lacey Township School District - 2- hour delay, but conditions will be monitored throughout the morning, and schools could close. All morning preschool sessions and vocational schools are cancelled. Afternoon preschool sessions will have regular scheduled pick-up time. All before-school childcare programs will open at 8:45 a.m.

Lakewood School District - Closed.

Little Egg Harbor School District - Delayed opening for all schools, but there is a chance schools could be canceled.Frog Pond Elementary School is scheduled to open at 9:50 a.m. George J. Mitchell Elementary will open at 10:45 a.m. Robert C. Wood Senior Early Childhood Center will start at 11:30. There will be no before-school care, and buses will arrive two hours after the normal assigned time.

Manchester Township Public Schools -  All Manchester Township Schools have a 90-minute delayed opening Thursday. Announcement as to a possible closing will be made between 6 and 6:30 a.m.

Ocean County Vocational-Technical School - 90-minute delay.

Pinelands Regional - 2-hour delay.

Seaside Heights School District - Closed.

Toms River Regional School District - All schools will be operating on a delayed opening schedule officials said Wednesday evening, but did not state an exact time schools would open. If schools must close, an announcement will be released no later than 6:30 a.m. Thursday.


Freehold Borough - No trash collection Thursday.

Long Branch - City hall offices will be closed. They will reopen Friday.

Middletown - Municipal offices are closed.

Tinton Falls - Residential recycling collection scheduled for Thursday will instead be collected on Friday of this week.


Rutgers University, all campuses - Closed.

Because of the snowstorm expected to sweep through New Jersey, several schools in Bergen County have announced closings for Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017.
