Red Power Ranger Ricardo Medina Jr admits killing flatmate Josh Sutter with sword
A FORMER Power Ranger has admitted stabbing his roommate to death with a sword following a row over his girlfriend.
The Sun reports that Ricardo Medina Jr, who starred as the Red Power Ranger, stabbed his roommate Josh Sutter in the abdomen with a Conan the Barbarian-style sword in January 2015.
Although he originally pleaded not guilty to murder, the 38-year-old admitted to a charge of voluntary manslaughter, KTLA reported.
The actor and Sutter had been arguing about Medina’s girlfriend parking outside their home in Los Angeles when the attack happened, according to cops.
The star, who appeared in Power Rangers Wild Force and the Power Rangers Samurai series, went to his bedroom with his girlfriend after the row but was followed by Sutter.
Medina then stabbed him with a Conan the Barbarian-style sword in the abdomen, according to TMZ.
The ex-Power Ranger then called 911 and told cops he had acted in self defence.
Sutter was rushed to hospital where he later died.

The actor was arrested but later released after prosecutors rejected the case.
He was then rearrested in January 2016 and later charged with murder — but pleaded not guilty.
However on Thursday, prosecutors announced that Medina has pleaded guilty to one count of voluntary manslaughter and admitted using a sword in the killing.
When he was released from the jail last year, Medina said he was “very, very, very sorry for what occurred.”
Medina played the leader of the Power Rangers in the 2002 Power Rangers Wild Force series and then appeared as the villain Deker in two later series.
He has also starred in ER, CSI and Bad Blood.
An entry on Medina’s IMDb profile reads: “When not working, he enjoys hanging out with friends, going to the movies, roller blading, going to the arcade, and resting in his California home …
“He was inspired to act because he wanted to use the attention to make a difference and be a positive role model.”
Medina faces six years in jail when he is sentenced on March 30.
