Ruby's lip sync battle

Ruby Rose lip syncing Meredith Brooks is one reason not to 'hate the world today'

The original "B" is back.

Ruby Rose is reviving Meredith Brooks' anthem sung at the top of the lungs of anyone who has ever felt like a (expletive), lover, child, mother, sinner, or saint for Spike's Lip Sync Battle.

The clip of Rose's NSFW performance of the song released in 1997 begins with her middle finger in the air. Wearing a black dress and knee-high boots, the xXx: Return of Xander Cage actress's pantomimes the lyrics giving herself devil's horns and entertaining co-host Chrissy Teigen in the process.

Will Rose's emotional performance be enough to bring home the belt? Or will her Resident Evil: The Final Chapter co-star and opponent, Milla Jovovich, be victorious? Tune into Lip Sync Battle Thursday at 10 p.m. ET/PT to find out.

Ruby's lip sync battle

In a newly released sneak peek clip, the 30-year-old Australian actress and model dramatically rocks out to Meredith Brooks' track B***h.

And she certainly doesn't hold back, immediately flashing her middle finger before making a devil horns hand gesture.

Dressed ever so appropriately for the pop rock track, Ruby sported a sleek black leather dress, revealing her bold arm tattoos.

No doubt very excited about her appearance on the popular show, Ruby took to Instagram on Thursday to share the preview clip and a little message for her fans.

"Sneak peek of TONIGHT THE EPIC SHOW DOWN YOU DIDNT KNOW YOU NEEDED TO SEE! #lipsyncbattle (sic)," she wrote.

The star has been busy in recent weeks, promoting her latest movie, xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage, which also stars Vin Diesel, Nina Dobrev and Deepika Padukone.

Speaking to Be about her big screen project, Ruby says she and co-star Vin worked very closely on the project.

In fact according to the Aussie, she competed with the 49-year-old to prepare her body for the action-packed scenes.

“The gym was every day. It was three or four hours leading up to the film,” she tells Be.

“I just wanted to compete with Vin. So if Vin did five hours, I did five hours. If he did half an hour, I did 31 minutes.

“And both of us, we just saw each other really reacting well to that non-stop training.”

In terms of what she ate during filming, Ruby says both she and Vin adhered to “incredible diets”.

“We ate all the time, like we’d just keep eating all throughout the day so we didn’t get tired or sick or run down and then it just worked.”

She also admits to doing “all of my own stunts”.

“I love doing stunts and I think that’s part of the reason why I gravitate towards action movies,” she says.

“I cant fathom why to choose to an action film if not to do the stunts because that to me is the highlight, which I guess goes so well with all our characters.

“We’re thrill seekers in a way, extreme sports enthusiasts.”

“It’s a lot easier to throw a stunt person on set and so we did a lot of training on one of my scenes in particular which was climbing a tree,” she says about one of her favourite scenes.

“It looked so good, I just wanted to do it.

“And so I trained and trained and trained and they let me do it. I did it 5 or 6 times and then I think they did a couple more takes as well with the stunt double so they have every angle and option that they need.”

Ruby Rose goes next level with Meredith Brooks’ B*tch on Lip Sync Battle

In a preview clip of the upcoming episode, the Orange is the New Black star goes next level and channels a lot of ‘90s angst while miming along to Meredith Brooks’ hit B*tch.

Wearing a leather dress and knee-high combat boots, Rose flips the audience off before coming up with various actions that coincide with the lyrics.

Her choreography for the line “I’m a sinner” is truly terrifying.

Rose goes head to head with her Resident Evil: The Final Chapter co-star Milla Jovovich in the episode which will air in the US tomorrow.
